Intro

Welcome to my Photo Journal! It'll just be a journal with pictures i took of the day. I try to walk/cycle outside every day because i work too much at home and forget that i also have a life outside and a free will + it is good for health. I already cycle everyday to school but i still end up staying inside during free time. I hope this journal will get me out more because i just give updates of my day and have sick pictures of things i come across.

April 17 2025

  • I was looking outside my window and saw that the trees were red. So I ran to the attic because the sun sets on the other side of my room and I would have an even better view. These pics give off nostalgic memories when i was a child or something.

  • I was on my way home after attending the last day of my seminar. It's a drawing seminar, but i talk about more details about it in my artblog.
I went home first before returning back to the city to buy a new artfolder to store more of my work in there.
Dude i love the knitted laterns they hang in the blossom tree. I need to make those and hang them in my room.

  • I'm working on a long project of finding shopping carts somewhere in the middle of nowhere far away from their shop. I'm probably going to make a mini zine out of it because it's cool. It's funny that it's literally everywhere that shoppingcarts get neglected in the middle of nowhere far away from their shop. Today i saw a few again so it was a good reminder that i need to keep this project going. I've seen many more neglected carts but couldn't take a pic of them.
The rest of today's pics are just random.

After all these years until now i realized i got the fucking ornamental pear tree in my garden... Why is the smell so extremely strong right now. I always thought it was just the cat that took a huge dump or piss in the garden but no, it's the fucking tree.

  • I slept until 3 p.m. An hour later i went out. I realized that i may have burnout because i got a headache yesterday right before work and i tried so hard not to sleep even though i slept 9 hours. These days felt so incredibly stressful that i wanted to sleep most of the time. I tried not to sleep while i was at school or at my seminar. At the same time everything feels like it could go even more downhill with my life in general, i think about all the choices i've ever made. Lately, i feel bad every time i hang out with friends because they are experiencing fun things and i don't, because fear is currently the biggest factor holding me back on so many things. Whenever i talk with friends i only have things to say about school, nothing else because my brain is in panic mode. Anyway, enough of this emotional rant. I needed this day to cycle around a bit and get my head on something else.
Also i got a new hoodie so it was also the perfect time to get my package.

  • Seminar
  • I haven't been active much but in the meantime i got a new cam. I gotta say, I really miss my Digital Ixus 60 because the new cam is a bit lower quality when zooming in + the zoom in button, only when taking a video, appears to be broken eventhough it should be working T^T.
Anyways, recently i signed up for a drawing seminar where we're just going to practice experimenting with drawing. We're going to different locations, this time alot to Amsterdam. I thought it'd be helpful for me to draw more because i really missed it, and i wanted to get better with shaping my drawing style.

Today we went to the Public Library of Amsterdam, but i didn't take pics inside unfortunately, i don't know why. So instead i took pics of birds.

  • Animation/film festival
  • My camera decided to give up today (20th) which was kinda devastating to me. I had this cam for 3 years now and the previous owner used it alot too so, i guess it was time anyways. These were the last photo's i took. I was going to that clock building for an animation festival where there were many legendary artists walking around you could speak to. This festival lasted two days and i went to both.

Artists that were there included Aaron Blaise who worked on famous Disney movies like Aladdin, Brother Bear and The Lion King as animator. I'm not really a Disney fan but his animations do be smooth tho.

Dermot Power, who worked as a concept artist for Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Fantastic Beasts and some of Tim Burtons movies. Dermot was talking about it like everything was something so small like 'oh yeah i worked on feature films and uhh *shows concept art of Buckbeak* this was the entire process and stuff and uh *shows concept artwork of Tim Burton's Pinnochio movie that never came out???* oh i think i'm not allowed to show this to you guys... eh... yeah whatever anyways uhh...'

Anne-Laure To who worked on Arcane as art superviser, matte painter and development artist at Fortiche. The presentation was kinda boring tbh i'm sorry but they showed work that we all could've searched up and also they didn't say what struggles they had and how they fixed stuff so it was more of a 'we did this, we did that' story. But it do be interesting to see that the storyboards are super colorful which made them extra readable and satisfying to look at.

Directors Wesley Louis and JuanPe Arroyo from The Line studio's had a talk about their work and the build up of the studio. The Line is an animation studio who mainly focuses on action which is rly cool.

Much later, me and my friends spoke to both directors who also happen to have worked on The Amazing World of Gumball, after watching Fortiche talking about Arcane's making of, which is INSANE. Wesley Louis also worked on The Illusionist and Super Turbo Atomic Ninja Rabbit. JuanPe Arroyo also worked on Scavengers Reign. Dude they both made so many cool shit. When i saw the bike ad from their studio i was blown the fuck away man, i thought a Japanese studio made it but nah man it's made in fucking England. We had a good talk with both of them like damn they're both so chill. We were talking more with Wesley because JuanPe was only talking with one other person from our group lol, but it was really fun.
It's interesting to see the process of the amount of drawing can actually have an impact on your skills. It doesn't matter how much you draw the same subject because you will get better at that exact subject like Wesley did all the time since he was 9.
Someone said: 'Yeah i wrote your advice in my book like 'just draw till page 8'' he answered: 'ooooo that's a good one, i think i'm going to use that phrase for my next talk.' Lol it was so good. Someone else said: 'I kept drawing anime but my teacher said it isn't good because if i would get a job not everyone is gonna like that style.' and he said: 'eehh i think that's bullshit, you should keep drawing what you love and become better at it like i did. Just keep drawing and drawing.' And yeah indeed because studio's like his will LOVE IT.
After a while Wesley was gone and we were talking with JuanPe, so my friends handed out their business cards while i was quickly writing my insta @ on my sticker. He handed out some selfmade cool shirtbuttons and i was struggling writing my insta on the sticker. We had to walk out the huge hall so it was even more difficult to write it down so i tried it 3 fuckin times saying: 'are you able to read this?' 'eehh kinda, dw we have all the time.' And i was apologizing a few times brooo i made it 1000x more awkward. Much later I didn't know he would actually gave a look to my account and followed me back and liked my animations like wwhaaaaaa. Since then i wrote my @ on all my stickers that same day.

It's so scary to try to talk and make connections with other artists on a business kinda level because wtf am i supposed to saayy. It was so scaryy so i only gave compliments. I wanted to ask more questions but nothing came up. Some people are a natural at this and i'm so jealous of that. At that moment i'm like 'just take my stickers man, have a good day.'

There was an after party each day where you'd get a chance to talk to other artists but we only went the second day. I was anxious asfuck and my friends were tired so we left. We wanted to talk to the line directors again but they didn't show up until veryvery late when we went out the building. Luckily we managed to talk a little with Wesley after my friend gave him, and JuanPe who walked further, his last pokemon stickersheets. 'You got the good one because i put one sticker from the other sheet in a toilet somewhere.' It was so funny. After a while we gave our business cards to him and i gave him my sticker with my @. I really need to practice talking with people in a fun way, cuz it doesn't have to be business-y straight away, aaagghh.

  • I didn't go outside today but i did ate yummy vegetable soup. I love soup so much man. Oh and i thought the bacon looked like Japan, but the longer i look at it, the more it doesn't look like it.

But dude, look at this fucking apple. How perfect can it be, like, huh, it looks so fake, very cartoonish apple.

  • Update:

I went to a punkconcert with 3 bands: Eddie and the Roadcrew, M.U.G., The Protos.
That night was a bad feverdream because i went alone and none of my friends was able to join me unfortunately. But it was also very small group of people and i also saw other people from other bands there who were definitely friends with M.U.G. so ofcourse when that band was playing everyone was moshing so hard. At the rest of the two bands the crowd was just standing there, not even all the way at the front. All the bands had the same energy like what's goin on??. Maybe i'm only used to shows where everyone is moshing non-stop. I only took video's of only M.U.G. so these pics are stills i like. The last one is from The Protos but yeagh the room was half empty.

This pic i took of her was moments before disaster. I didn't know anything would happen because i thought this was just a cool shot of her standing in the middle of the pit but...
I was dancing with her when the Protos started playing and then she suddenly passed out and fell on the ground. We immediately took her out of the pit and more people started surrounding us. I asked her friend if this happened to her before but she said no.
I left right after because i didn't know what to do and there were other people who were able to help and i don't want any more people to surround her. She got conscious again tho so i hope she's okay. She immediately left with her friend.

Anyways, during every break I mostly went outside but i felt super awkward standing alone between two groups of people. So when i went inside i saw a noise DJ playing in a big empty space of room. So he was just dancing, screaming, talking gibberish, humming, fucking around on his dj set, while there were one or two other guys dancing around. I'll just show a video because it's too random to just photograph.

  • Couldn't take many pics today because my camera battery was quickly empty. Today nothing really interesting happened, just work. Oh i was about to go to Julie concert but it's canceled today because one of their bandmembers is really sick unfortunately. I hope he gets well soon. But now they're trying to figure out a new date or if they're gonna permanently cancel it.

  • I cycled to school as always. After school i had to go to a different location to attend a followup meeting to get information for my exchange. My school selected me out of soo many applicants to be able to sign up for an exchange at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art, which is so coool. So now i only have to pray that that university will accept me by looking at my portfolio and shit, you know how it works.

Anyway, the location I was in felt like I was entering a hospital for a vaccination or something. Or just a really boring office where people have a 9 to 5 job. I really like the first elevator pic though. It gives off comfy backroom vibes.

On the way back home i just took random pics i thought i might share.

    March 10 2025

  • New gemstonez
  • eggbaconbred, kinda looks discusting

Almost always before i go out my neighbors cat is in my garden which is so cute. I can still remember when i was 12 she had 4 kittens, but they were sold unfortunately. So this was like 9 years ago. I have no idea how old she is now, but I hope she will be here much longer.

I walked around downtown looking for a gift for my bf but it wasn't there unfortunately :( so i went back to my bike to go home. But on my way there was a mineral/spiritual shop so i couldn't miss it. I don't really believe in gemstone spirituality, i'm just interested on how they're made and how cool they look. Eventually i bought a few ones and my favourite is the Fluorite Angel because it just looks so pretty.
I rather want to buy the natural structures of those mineral/gemstones/rocks though because all of them look more unique which they are, but unfortunatelt they didn't had much of them at this store. They mostly had carved ones or already the natural structure ones that i already have like amethyst, rosequartz and halite. There were a few natural structures that i don't have yet in my collection but they were much more expensive so i'll come back on them later. I'm still baffled how tf the universe can make this shit and we can see and hold them (not all of them because some can be radioactive).

Especially Meteorites are really interesting. That mineral wizard showed me a piece of meteorite. The structure was so cool with lot's of straight lines apparently called Widmanstätten pattern. Meteorites contain meteoritic iron which were part of planets or astroids. These celestial bodies disintegrated millions or even billions of years ago, or perhaps never fully formed. So fragments of them were just floating around space for insane long periods of time before meeting earth. When they did visit earth they hit a staggering amount of 17,000 miles per hour encountering our atmosphere because of their huge velocity. Like damn. And because of the insane amount of heat they endure the surface can melt and flow to form into unique formations. One of those formations is when meteoric iron cools and kamacite is exsolved from taenite where the Widmanstätten pattern will be formed showing lamellae (interleaving kamacite and taenite bands). I'd be cool if the shop i went to has meteorite.

Anyways, i had a good day

  • Squat + Mineral Wizard?
  • I'm writing this on march 9th but i did had a cool day on march 5-6th.

I went to chill with a friend and some other aquaintances on the hill after school. The sun was finally doing us good.
She and I had agreed to go to “bikewars” afterwards, a squat where you can chill out and get super cheap food. It's a bar quite far from downtown at an old business site, but fine to bike.
Tbh i didn't know what to say the entire time before we went there, because i hadn't seen anyone in a while and i don't know them well, only my friend, so i felt bad first for not being social. But when we got there the vibes became slowly better.

It was a pretty big site ofc. Around 20 people live in that squat and it looks quite awesome. I couldn't see much though because it was hella dark already. When going inside it is a rly vibey cool bar. My first impression felt like i came in an old pub like in movies because everyone was staring at you when you came in, but in a good way though because everyone is welcome. There were alot of dogs roaming around which is awesome. If you wanted to eat you had to pay just 3 euro's and a beer cost only 1 euro's. Such an amazing place.

(I took the following pictures after almost everyone was gone though) While i was there other friends and ppl came in too and the place was a bit crowded. Much later i was having a super long conversation with an old guy who squats for over 40 years which is really cool. I talked to other people too and idk everyone was pretty fun. I ate yummy soup and a bit of fries that they've made, it was soooo good.

And someone else was really passionate about gemstones and walking around showing people and telling really interesting facts about them. Dude, i've been collecting gemstones for over 10 years rightnow but that dude is rich af. He had fucking pure blue sapphire, ruby, 3 small parts of different type/phases of a meteorite, opal, star opal, aquamarine, and more that i forgot the name of. I was already interested in the convo because of gemstones but DAMn. The fact that he just had them in his pocket the entire day baffles me too, like who walks around with idk maybe 100,- worth of gemstones. Ultimate npc vibe. He's like a mineral wizard trader. The best part is that he gave me one small piece of opal for free! The entire night felt like a game because of him and now i have to come back next time to show him my collection of gemstones, but i'm very much looking forward to that tbh. I received +100p amount of gem knowlegde that night.
When i'll come back i hope he will identify a weird looking stone i once found when i was around 9 on one of those French stone beaches for me.

Much later i played jazz on the piano. I was also jamming/doing improv together with someone else. Unfortunately many keys didn't work :(. But someone told me that they're going to switch this piano with a better one that they already have in a different room. Anyways, this place is awesome.
